Weekly UpdateGood Afternoon Shedders,
The sun is out and it looks as if it is going to stay out all week, hooray to that. The parasols will be up at the Shed tomorrow so get the sun cream, the sun glasses and sun hats ready. Those of you who come to Bikeability, we will be going after the Shed tomorrow. On Wednesday 30th March the Shed will be opening later, from midday to 3pm, hope most of you will be able to still come. We are going to run a trip to Tenby on Tuesday 5th April so I will be taking names from tomorrow. The membership scheme will be starting from 1st April so you can pay £5.00 for the year whenever you are ready. Finally, don't forget to get everyone to vote for us on the ASDA green tokens, at the moment we are in the lead. You can vote separately on your phone and laptop, two votes per person so please remember to support us. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Belinda

ASDA Green Token SchemeGood Afternoon Shedders and Shedder Supporters!
I am just reminding you all to please vote for The Old Blacksmiths - Men's Shed Clydach on the Asda Green Token Scheme. We are under the Swansea store and you can vote on your phone and your laptop. We are in the lead at the moment so it would be great if we could keep it going. Tell everyone, friends, family and colleagues. Many thanks to you all for your continued support, you are amazing!! Belinda MembershipGood Evening Shedders,
There will be a few changes coming to the Shed starting Friday April 1st. As you know the cost of everything is increasing and the Shed has relied mainly on funding. However, our main funders now expect us to raise our own money as we are going into our third year of the Clydach Shed. We have to become self supporting. Another factor is that we also have to think about the ever increasing numbers at the Shed and how to control that, after all there is only a certain amount of room. Also, we have the added problem of some people using the Shed as a casual meeting place and this is only going to get worse in the warmer weather. With all of this in mind the Shed is going to do two things:- 1. There is going to be a yearly membership charge of £5.00 and you will be given a membership card when you join. 2. The amount you pay is going to increase from £1.50 to £2.00 and you can have as much tea, coffee, cake and biscuits as you want. Any non members will have to pay £2.00 for every tea or coffee and we have the right to refuse them entry if we are too full. I hope you will all understand our situation and support the changes. I am more than happy to chat about it with you tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding. Don't forget it is Bikeability tomorrow after the Shed for those who came last week. If the weather is too bad we will postpone it but dress warmly anyway as it is supposed to be cold, I know it was freezing today. I hope I will see you at the Shed tomorrow. Belinda UkraineGood Evening Shedders,
Clydach Community Council have put out an urgent appeal for various items to help support the people of Ukraine. This afternoon, on behalf of the Shedders, we took two boxes of desperately needed items to the community hall. Tomorrow we will put out a collection box on the counter for any spare change that you can give to help this appeal. We will give the money to Matthew Bailey, Chair of Clydach Community Council, to purchase much needed items such as baby formula milk. They haven't had very much of this so donations would help to purchase several tins. Many thanks in advance for supporting this cause if you can. SHED CLOSED ON FRIDAY MARCH 4th Stay safe Belinda |
